CDs I Own

yes that's right, you moron, i said CDs i own.  Blah blah blah.  How much of a description do i need to put here?  Yes, I have no life and feel like listing my cds.  Yes, I don't have that many and I suck.  Also with it is a description of it, why i bought it, whatever i wanna say, dammit.  The listing is in no particular order.  Oh yeah, and i don't want to hear you say "yeah, well if i did this page i wouldn't have enough space on my hard drive cuz i have so many more cds than you".  If you would like to see that, please consult shutting the hell up.  thanks.  I also have gotten about 230843820 cds since i last updated this, so be patient.

cds in this color are cds that i have gotten since my last update.

#1 Fan - Demo-licious - This band played during lunch at my high school once.  the son of our secretary was in the band.  they were pretty neat, and i found this at a 3 for $0.99 bin in seattle.
Beck - Mellow Gold -
Saw it at Second Time Around and couldn't pass it up.  I don't listen to it much, even though it's pretty good.  Not sure why.  Why I don't listen to it much, that is.

Beck - Loser Single - Got from my brother for Christmas.  Really cute of him.  The card he gave me said something...oh gosh, I don't remember.  I just remember it said something about enjoying my gift, and it said "beckause".  I thought that was funny.
Beck - Odelay! - I got this the same day my mother got Live's Secret Samadhi.  I kept listening to hers, but eventually i listened to this, and it's awesome!  I really like it.
Beck - Midnite Vultures - Natalie's mom got me this for christmas.  How sweet!  And what a great choice too, this is definitely one of my fav cds, it's like funky beck!  and i saw him live, and man can he dance.  it's a shame i'm not gay.
Ben Folds Five - Ben Folds Five - My ex and one of my best friends Megan got it for me just 'cuz.  Aw :)
Ben Folds Five - Summer EP - Saw this at Second Time Around..i'm such a sap.  It contains no material, but what the hell, it's BF5!!!
Ben Folds Five - Whatever and Ever Amen - Okay, I admit it.  I heard Brick on the radio on the few times, it made me all teary-eyed, so I bought this cd at blockbuster with a gift certificate.  Shut up, it was good til they played the hell out of it.  It's still a beautiful album.
Ben Folds Five - Battle of Who Could Care Less Single - Saw this in Second Time Around, once again, nothing new, but I got it anyway.
Ben Folds Five - Naked Baby Photos - I got this from Blockbuster with a gift certificate.  The funny thing is that I got this before I heard the first album, and this cd contains a lot of live songs from the first album.  Okay, so it wasn't that funny.
Ben Folds Five - The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner - One of the few CDs I've bought new and the day it came out.  Mmmm...so lovely.  It doesn't rock as much as the others, but sweet sweet songs.  However, I later gave this to anthony when i found...
Ben Folds Five - The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner (including Spare Reels video)- I found this used, however unopened.  It's like a box set with the CD in a cool cardboard case, and a video with a bunch of their songs live.  wheee :)
Bjork - Post - Bjork rules.  This one's kinda dance-ey but still pretty neato.
Blink 182 - Enema of the State - This was in second time around so i picked it up.  Ah, mindless pop punk.  I'm a sucker for it.  Really, i think it's a cooool cd, and it's nice and catchy.
Bush - Razorblade Suitcase - My mom signed up for a cd club once.  They sent us in the mail with the rip off "if you don't want this, send it back within 30 days. .  If you do want it, keep it and you owe us $23042348 for it."  We forgot to sent it back within a month, so I kept it since my mom already has it.  Uhh..the first few songs are pretty cool.
Built to Spill - Ultimate Alternative Wavers - yay!  i've always liked BTS but never really taken the time to buy one of their albums.  So, i felt guilty.  So, I went to second time around and found this in the 3 for $0.99 bin and yoinked it ;)

Butthole Surfers - Pepper - My Brother: "I don't want this, take it!  *hides it in my room*" Me: "Uhh..what?"
Cake - Motorcade of Generosity - My brother got this for me for christmas.  Kick ass!  the problem is all the songs are really quiet, so i dunno what's up.
Cake - Fashion Nugget - I bought this from Aaroin for $5.  I can't believe he wanted to sell this.
Cake - Prolonging the Magic - Found a promo of this at Second Time Around.  I love Cake!
chixdiggit! - chixdiggit - bought this used from second time around.  Definite must.
Cottonmouth, Texas - Antisocial Butterfly - Got this through mail-order cuz I heard his song "Three Dimes" on the radio and just had to have it.  He has an awesome page somewhere, I'll link it when I get the chance.
Cottonmouth, Texas - White Trash Receptacle - I got this from Mr. Liles himself!  Yay!  BTW, Liles = the guy from Cottonmouth, Texas.
Cottonmouth, Texas - The Right to Remain Silent - Finally found this!  it's his second full-length i think, and he's a kick-ass dude, i hope to hear more from him in the future.
Elastica - Elastica - Found this at the bargain bin at the Warehouse.  Only $3.99, and they're pretty cool.
Everclear - Sparkle and Fade - Everclear's one of those bands that are really pretty damn rocking, but they take a back seat to you know, less mainstream bands.  So i didn't have an everclear album forever, then i broke down and got it, and then my ex stole it and still has it :(  But then, after a few years, i bought it again from second time around.
Fight Club - Score - well it's actually the score to fight club, but whatever.  This rocks.  They didn't get an oscar nomination for sound for nothing.  umm. yeah. anyway, i got it from wherehouse for $12.99

Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape - Dude, i've had this forever, why isn't it in this collection? I got this from wherehouse they day it came out, and the chick that worked there said that she was supposed to hug the first person who bought the cd, and so i got the hookup!  hell yeah!  hugs rock!
Folk Implosion - Natural One - Found this used I think at Warehouse for $2.  $2 for 2 songs!
Frenzal Rhomb - Meet the Family - One of YSIB's biggest fans, petra, sent me this in hopes of me opening up to like more australian bands.  not bad :)
Goodness - Goodness - It took me forever but i finally got a goodness cd!  I love them, and i've seen them live 320840 times, but i haven't had the money to buy their album.  Found it used.  Is it even self titled?  I don't remember but i can't find it right now.
Macy Gray - On How Life is - Eek!  I have this!  OMG!  oh well, i said it, alright?  the song i heard struck a chord with me and i was kinda interested, and natalie got it for me.  it's actually pretty good.  alright, alright!
Green Day - Dookie - Second time around has this 3 cds for a $2 pile, and i spotted this in there.  I was like, what the hell, if someone threatens my life and says i'll die unless i hand over a green day cd, at least i'll have this.  I still haven't listened to it.
Hagfish - ...Rocks Your Lame Ass! - Found this used promo at Second Time Around.  It shows how much I've been influenced by Soda Jerk/Nicole :P
Harvey Danger - Where Have all the Merrymakers Gone? - Carlton Kim let me borrow his cd and I fell in love.  Literally.  Or not.  But I still loved the cd, and managed to find a cardboard blue-house cd and have it for my very own.  Yayyyy.
Hum - You'd Prefer an Astronaut - Per Anthony's suggestion, I got Hum when I found it used.  I don't listen to it much, but it still rocks.
Mark Lanegan - Scraps at Midnight - I've always adored mark lanegan's voice, it's so awesome.  soothing and deep and just plain ass-kicking.  I finally got this with a borders gift certificate.  Hurrah :) Lovely stuff.
John Linnell - State Songs - Whoa.  Okay, nat went to california on a vacation, and she totally kept this a secret from me til christmas.  Then, at christmas, she gave me this cd, autographed!  she also gave me a poster, autographed!  She saw john linnell on his tour down there and got him to autograph shiz!  asdfjkl;fjasd!

Micro Mini - This is Jennie - Saw them live at Pain in the Grass and they rocked.  They're not as good in the studio, dunno why.  Still alright. Oh yeah, I got this used.  note: I listened to this more.  it rocks :)
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Let's Face It - Got this for my birthday a long time ago.  It isn't too bad, but most ska "isn't too bad".  Just gets annoying after a while.
Nerf Herder - Nerf Herder - Found this at Warehouse.  I love these guys!
Nerf Herder - How to Meet Girls - After tons of waiting, I found one copy of this in the Wherehouse at southcenter.  Yayy!!  About damn time!  It's awesome, although, like their last cd, it really short-changes ya, only 11 songs and half an hour or so of music.  Grrr..
New Kids on the Block - Hangin' Tough - I should give this back to Jesus.
nofx - Ribbed - Found this used.  Yay nofx!!
nofx - punk in drublic - anthony got me this for my birthday.  Yay!!
nofx - white trash, two heebs, and a bean - since everyone else in my band knew like every single nofx song, I decided to go out and get this with my blockbuster gift certificate.  I haven't looked back.  Wait, that doesn't make sense.
nofx - so long, and thanks for the shoes - Found this used.  Hurrah!
nofx - The Decline - A picked this up for tower, because even though it says on the back "pay no more than $11.99 for this", it was being sold for $2080348280342 just about everywhere. It's awesome!  It's just one 18-minute song.  can one band rock any more than this?
Pi - The Soundtrack - That looks bad, but whatever.  The band is not pi, and the title is not "The Soundtrack".  But whatever, get over it :)  Natalie got this for me just 'cuz.  Awwwww!  It has a lot of cool techno songs on it, and i'm suddenly getting into techno for background music..uh oh...

The Presidents of the United States of America - The Presidents of the United States of America - I stole this from my brother.  I hope he doesn't find out.  Well, if he does, I always have..
The Presidents of the United States of America - The Presidents of the United States of America - Josh gave it to Meg, who gave it to me, even though I already have it.  Uhh..thanks?
The Presidents of the United States of America - II - My brother got me this for christmas after I had a bootlegged tape copy of it forever.  Yay!!  Then some bastard stole it in TJTV.  Boo.  Update: I finally found this pretty cheap from a used store and bought a new copy.  Hurrah!
The Presidents of the United States of America - Pure Frosting - I got this used after I borrowed it from Jesus for a million years.
Radiohead - The Bends - My mom got me a double-radiohead christmas present.  Also included in the gift was...
Radiohead - OK Computer - Yay!
Reel Big Fish - Turn the Radio Off (original version + autographs) - Found this at second time around.  Heh heh heh...
Reel Big Fish - Turn the Radio Off - I bought this new from Warehouse for $12.99 cuz I liked "Sellout".  Little did I know they'd turn out to be one of my favorite bands.
Reel Big Fish - She Has a Girlfriend Now - The once-PR girl for RBF sent me this :)
Reel Big Fish - Beer - Promo single.  Found it at second time around.

Reel Big Fish - Keep Your Receipt - Blockbuster gift certificate.
Reel Big Fish - Why Do They Rock So Hard? - Meg got me this for an anniversary gift.  :)))
Reel Big Fish - Everything Sucks - This is their first demo tape, but it's re-released under their big label and along with a few other things.  It's pretty cool, it has some of their songs in their early, crappy form.  Got it from Wherehouse with a discount, thanks brenda!
R.E.M. - Life's Rich Pageant - Meg gave me this out of the kindness of her heart.
R.E.M. - Reckoning - I bought this from CDNOW, actually.
R.E.M. - Dead Letter Office - bought this with a blockbuster gift certificate.
R.E.M. - Green - Also from CDNOW.
R.E.M. - Document - my mom had this....i traded her something for it.
R.E.M. - Out of Time - Same with this.
R.E.M. - Automatic for the People - I stole this from mom too, but then Amber stole it from me and will never ever give it back.  But meg saved the day and donated her box AFTP to me.
R.E.M. - Drive - Saw this at second time around for the longest time...finally bought it.
R.E.M. - Monster - Christmas present from the 'rents.
R.E.M. - New Adventures in Hi-Fi - I bought the Special edition through CDNOW and it shipped next day air so i got it the day it came out.  Mmmm....r.e.m.
R.E.M. - Up - Meg got me the special edition the day it came out. :))
The Rentals - Return of the Rentals - I borrowed this from Nic a long while ago, and decided it's pretty damn cool.  I finally found it at 2nd time around and yoinked it.  I like the second cd a looot better, but this one still rocks the hizouse.  it's not that long either.  ah well :)

The Rentals - Seven More Minutes - I found this promo at second time around a few weeks before it was actually released.  Woohoo!  Alex wanted it but he hasn't given me anything for it yet.
Salmon Davis - Salmon Davis - they're Seamless now, but they still do a pretty good job at rockin.  Thanks to Jeff of Soda Jerk for hooking me up with this cd.
Size 14 - Size 14 - Found this somewhere in Seattle.  I didn't expect much, but these guys are great.
The Smashing Pumpkins - Adore - We got this for my dad for father's day I think, he never really liked it, so I stole it.
Elliott Smith - Kill Rock Stars - I heart elliott smith!  yayyy!  I got this with a borders gift certificate.  Borders actually has pretty cheap cds, for the most part.
Elliott Smith - Either/Or - Woohoo!  I found this at second time around, after searching even new stores for this cd.  It's sooo awesome, it's basically Elliott and his guitar, with some percussion.  I listen to it lots.

Elliott Smith - xo - Got this with a blockbuster gift certificate.
Elliott Smith - Happiness - This is a single off the new album.  Rockin'.  And also has "Son of Sam" which is like acoustic elliott.  *die* a good dying.  I got it from Tower.
Soda Jerk - Three Chord Rocket Science - Bought this from the guys.  While we don't keep in touch much anymore, I'd still like to thank the guys of Soda Jerk (Steve, Jeff, Mark, Rick) for one awesome summer.  Oh, and everyone else involved with last summer too :)
Soul Coughing - Irresistable Bliss - Got this used.  I love Soul Coughing!  This CD is great.
Soul Coughing - El Oso - Uh oh.  God damn.  I have no freaking clue where I got this.  Pretty sure it was a gift certificate for Warehouse.
Stabbing Westward - Ungod - I found this used without the cd case and insert and whatnot.  but oh well :)  It's still fun, I wasn't sure if i'd like it, but it prolly their second-most rocking album, behind their latest.

Stabbing Westward - Wither Blister Burn and Peel - Got this from that mail order cd thing, with out "10 free" or whatever.  Yay, they're cool!
Stabbing Westward - Darkest Days - Got this with a blockbuster gift certificate.
Stone Temple Pilots - Tiny Music...Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop - My brother didn't really like it, and he bought it a while ago from circuit city, so I stole it.

Sunny Day Real Estate - radio sampler - got this from anthony.
Super Deluxe - Famous (Tim Kerr release) - Found this in some used store in seattle.  I've had to buy this like 4 times though, and it's rare so it's hard to find (duh).  I've bought it for a few fellow super d fanatics.
Super Deluxe - Famous - Got this from that mail order thing.
Super Deluxe - She Came On - Found this at some used place in Seattle.
Super Deluxe - Via Satellite - Bought this new from Fred Meyers.

Super Deluxe - Farrah Fawcett - Found this at Second Time Around.  Anthony doesn't have this.  Hah!
supernot - Lull - Got this as a christmas present from Soda Jerk.  Aw.  Now two members of soda jerk are in this band.  Hahah...kinda funny.
that dog. - retreat from the sun - This was sitting there forever in Second Time Around for $3.  I felt bad it was there forever, so I finally picked it up.  It's good, too.
They Might Be Giants - They Might Be Giants - After seeing these guys at bumbershoot, i was amazed.  I had to have every release from these guys!  Sooo...One of the ones I picked up was this one, from Second Time Around.
They Might Be Giants - Lincoln - I also found this at the same place.
They Might Be Giants - Flood - Same with this one...this was the second-to-last one I found there, though.
They Might Be Giants - Apollo 18 - This is the first one I got, and still my fav, I think.
They Might Be Giants - Then - Got this from Jesus for Christmas.  It containts They Might Be Giants, Lincoln, and tons of rare stuff.  Yay!

They Might Be Giants - Factory Showroom - Same with this.  The last one I found.

They Might Be Giants - Long Tall Weekend - This is an mp3-only album but i bought it off the 'net then burned it onto a cd.  Yay!

Weezer - Pinkerton - Got this used when I discovered that Weezer rocks.
Young Fresh Fellows - Totally Lost - I saw these guys at the last presidents show and they were pretty cool.  This one is weird though.  The tracklisting is totally wrong.  Every song listed isn't right.  It's weird.  Hard to explain, too.

i got this cd when I first started my r.e.m. craze.  Not only that, but i liked to use cdnow, so i handed my mom $15 or however much for it, grabbed her credit card, and ordered it online.  7 to 10 days r.e.m green later, it arrived.  'green' is one of those cds that i picked up and liked immediately.  It was nice, poppy, and fresh.

this was the first r.e.m. cd i ever heard.  My mom purchased it first.  While I didn't grasp it back then, every song slowly hooked into my mind for life.  years later, i learned to love r.e.m. I then went back and stole my mom's AFTP.  It was so awesome!  I wondered why I hadn't liked this band before.  I had liked the band, but if you don't r.e.m. automatic for the people really listen to them or don't care for them, you tend to take them for granted.  Isn't it weird how we can do that?  You don't find a song spectacular because you're not really paying attention to them anyway, or because 'they're r.e.m.'.  anyway.  while i've played the hell out of it and prolly won't play it much anymore, it's still one of my faves.  I lost it, however, when i loaned it out to someone right before we broke up.  D'oh!  Remind me not to do that.  I was saved, however, when megan so graciously gave me her special edition automatic for the people.  how sweet :)

You know you've become an obsessive fan when you start buying crap that you know you don't need, and has no new songs just to have another cd by that artist.  At second time around one time, I saw this there, and i was like "yoink!"  Without even looking at it practically.  It's cool looking, though.  The actual cd cover is a picture of the three band mates.  And the song choice isn't that bad, either.  There's an "album version" and an "edited version" of ben folds five where's summer b? epWhere's Summer B?  (I didn't even know that was a single..oh well).  It also has "video" and "alice childress".

Well, the first time i heard the first single off this album, "Monkey Wrench", i thought it sucked.  I'm not sure why.  Anyway, i eventually grew to like it, then love it.  I wanted this album so bad, i was going to buy it the first day it came out.  But wait, there's a cool story to this.  So I go to warehouse like right after school to get this damn thing.  And it's there.  So then i go up to the counter, and the girl there at the counter was cool.  She said "My friend told me i have to hug the first person who bought this, and guess what!  You're the first person!"  I don't think she was coming on to me, because she wasn't saying it all flirty or anything.  Still, she was cute.  I mean..uhh..anyway.  I was kinda wondering how it took til 2:30 on the day it came out for anyone to buy this dumb cd.  Stupid people.  Anyway, I got a free hug out of this cd, and that rules.  I wish more cds came with that. the foo fighters the colour and the shape

this story's pretty boring.  I went to second time around, and i was looking for christmas presents.  Then my brother points out beck.  He said "hey shane, it's only $2.99.  That's pretty cool."  Okay, I say, I think i need a christmas present.  For myself.  So i buy it.  When I go back to the car, I stick the cd into the cd player.  "aw man..that was gonna be your christmas present."  My brother says.  Hah.  I kept him from beck mellow gold spending $2.99 for my christmas present.  I spent $20 on his, so dammit, my present should be good.  Wait, it's not about that.  Oh yeah, this cd is muchos cool.  I hate that "secret" track though!  It's so freakin' annoying, yet i listen to it.  Anyway.
Goddamn.  I don't think I remember how i got this.  Oh yeah, now i do.  For my birthday, SimmsG got me this and a "tongue" single.  that's pretty cool.  About thye only thing that boy has done right.  He used to be the drummer for my band, but kept coppin' out and playing for other r.e.m. reckoning bands, so we gave him the boot.  he sucks.  this album is cool..but hey..it's r.e.m.

This is one of those the smashing pumpkins adore cds.   I got it for my dad a while back, but i've since 'adopted' it since he was hoping for an edgier pumpkins cd.  So I play this cd in my car, right?  I damn near fall asleep at the wheel.  Boring as hell!  Okay, so it's stuck in my room for a while, just kinda collecting dust.  Except one night, i can't get to sleep.  I think some music might just slow me down a lil'.  unfortunately, my cd case is downstairs.  But there's this smashing pumpkins cd.  So i say sure, let's give it a spin.  So i do...it's awesome!  I had the best dreams (oh shut up) and slept soup'r.  So I do it the next night.  Works like a charm again!  I then listen to the cd in the car...what a cool cd!  I like the songs!  Like i said..it's one of those cds.

ahh!  There are so many things i can tell you about these guys.  But i'm talking about the cds i own. But anyway, these guys are great, and awesome, and i love them all.  But back to the cd.  At the first show with soda jerk that i went to, they threw out a bunch of free soda jerk three chord rocket science merchandise.  But then...they threw out the box once containing the merchandise into the mosh pit.  Bad idea.  The box quickly got kicked and beaten and thrown about.  Brooke, my friend, and I knew we had to do something.  We swiftly saved the box from peril in the mosh pit, and grabbed a few handy soda jerk stickers to repair the wounds.  So later, we get the soda jerk crew to sign the box in hopes that it gets better.  Oh yeah, and i scored an autographed soda jerk cd too.  What can i say?  It rocks!  it's punk and rock and whatnot at it's best.  Why the hell aren't they big and famous?

hehe..so i finally convinced my mom to do one of those damn "11 for 1" cd things.  so it all worked out okay, except one time after we got our 11 cds we got bush in the mail.  That's cool, we thought, but justin already had the cd, so we decided to send it back.  Two weeks later, the cd still sat bush razorblade suitcase on the counter, waiting to be 'sent back'. Finally, we gave up.  For some strange reason, we just couldn't will ourselves to stick it back in a box and ship it back.  I dunno what they do to the cds.  So anyway, my mom ends up payin like $20 for this stupid cd we already have, and it's still in my cd case, unopened.

one day my friend anthony emailed revolution, the label super deluxe was currently on.  In his letter, he said "wah wah I have a SD page can i have stuff?"  Just kidding anthony.  Although he prolly did.  He was then subsequently sent cool stuff to shut him up.  super deluxe love liquid wraparound single Anthony, being the gracious guy he is, appointed me as "#2 super d fan of TJ" and gave me cool stuff.  One of them was this cd.
This was another cd i got out of that "11 for 1" deal.  I already had super d's second cd, and hadn't bothered to get this one since i borrowed it from anthony a lot.  this cd is a lot different from their second.  The songs...I don't know.  They are deeper, so it seems.  I don't know super deluxe famous how to explain it.  I love both of the albums.  Anyway..gotta go.

What is up with people dissing this album?  It's sad...R.E.M. is heralded as one of "the best bands", but no one pays much mind to them.  It's as if we just expect them to do good, and expect them to make lots of money, regardless of if we buy their r.e.m. new adventures in hi-fi cd or listen to their music.  Well....you're right, I guess.  At first I didn't understand, but now i do.  R.E.M. makes 0824082480243 more dollars out of the u.s. than they do in.  Why?  Because usa is transfixed on rap and r/b right now. and only an album or two from rock will pop in.  However, in france, and germany and whatnot, r.e.m. sales are like off the chart.  Makes me happy to know they're doin' alright.

this cd rules.  This was a very sweet r.e.m. life's rich pageant gift given to my by my love megan.  This is a cool cd.  R.E.M. oldskool!  Not to mention it has this cool cover of "superman".  You know what sucks about '80's cds?  The volume!  All the damn cds are for some reason down too quiet.  Actually, it's more a problem of newer cds being too loud.  but whatever.  I hate that when i put in some old cds and some new cds into a 5 cd player, some will be too quiet and others damn loud!  End rant.

this cd was gotten to me by my "sweetheart" megan.  I was broke, and she somehow managed to scrape together her money to buy me a damn cd. To think...she could have used it for lunch money.  I love RBF.  Did I mention i have a page about them?  I'd link but i'm too damn lazy.  But uhh reel big fish why do they rock so hard? this cd is cool, cuz it has tons of punk riffs, and then horns to boot.  I'm actually not a ska fan, but damn, i love reel big fish.

Where the hell did i get this cd?  Oh yeah..for christmas last year my parents got me two radiohead cds. radiohead the bends this is one of them.  It took me a while to get into this one, admittedly.  I listened to it a few times and then marveled over ok computer.  Later, though, once ok became overplayed, i listened to this more and got hooked.  It rules.
